What it pays
What FWD Life PA pays
FWD Life PA pays you in three ways:
1. A lump sum, once
If an accident causes death or permanent disability. The most serious disabilities can pay up to 150% of the sum insured. Smaller ones, like losing the use of one hand, pay a set percentage.
2. Your medical bills back
Inpatient and outpatient, including TCM, acupuncture, bonesetter, chiropractor and physiotherapy. This is the benefit people use most.
3. Money while you cannot work
A daily amount in hospital and a weekly amount while disabled. This is an optional rider that costs extra.
| Benefit | Plan A | Plan B | Plan C |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accidental death and disability (lump sum) | S$100,000 | S$200,000 | S$500,000 |
| Medical expenses, inpatient and outpatient | S$2,000 | S$3,000 | S$4,000 |
| TCM, acupuncture, bonesetter, chiropractor paid from the medical limit above |
S$500 S$50 per visit |
S$1,000 up to S$100 per visit |
S$1,500 up to S$100 per visit |
| Physiotherapy paid from the medical limit above |
S$500 | S$1,000 | S$1,500 |
| Daily hospital income (Income Support Rider) | S$100 a day | S$150 a day | S$300 a day |
| Weekly income while disabled (Income Support Rider) | S$100 a week | S$200 a week | S$350 a week |
- Medical bills must be within 12 months of the accident. Medical cover ends at age 80.
- TCM, bonesetter, chiropractor and physiotherapy are paid from the same medical limit. They are not extra money on top.
- Income Support Rider: daily hospital income pays up to 365 days. Weekly income pays up to 104 weeks and ends at age 75. Daily income is halved for children aged 21 and below, people not working and people over 80 (S$50, S$75 or S$150 a day). Weekly income is halved for children and people not working (S$50, S$100 or S$175 a week).
Source: FWD Life PA policy contract dated 19 May 2026 and Product Summary dated 15 May 2026. FWD Singapore Pte. Ltd. (Company Registration No. 200501737H) issues the policy and pays the claims. Your own policy schedule decides your cover.
On Plan B, the medical limit is S$3,000 per accident. You sprain your ankle: a clinic visit (S$400), six physiotherapy sessions (S$600) and five TCM visits at S$80 each (S$400). The total of S$1,400 is within all the limits, leaving S$1,600 for that accident. This only shows how the limits fit together. It is not a promise that a claim will be paid. FWD assesses every claim against the policy.
Good to know
The policy renews every year up to age 100. After age 80, the lump sum continues at a lower level.
The lump sum goes up to S$1 million for a public transport accident and S$1.5 million for a commercial plane accident.
An extra 10% of the lump sum if you are in ICU on invasive life support for 120 hours in a row or more. Paid once per person.
Submit in the FWD SG app. A named FWD claims officer follows up with you.
Dengue & HFMD
It also covers dengue, HFMD and 22 other infectious diseases
FWD Life PA covers 24 named infectious diseases, including dengue, hand foot and mouth disease (HFMD) and measles. These are not accidents, but they still mean real bills and time off work. For families with young children, this is often the benefit that gets used.

Can I claim?
"Confirm can claim or not?" The honest answer
No personal accident plan in Singapore confirm can claim. Every plan pays only for injury caused by an accident, as the policy defines it. No insurer or adviser can promise that a claim will be paid. The useful question is what a plan covers and what it excludes.
FWD Life PA pays a lump sum of S$100,000 to S$500,000 for accidental death or permanent disability, pays back medical bills including TCM and physiotherapy, covers 24 infectious diseases such as dengue and HFMD, and renews every year up to age 100.
The FWD Life PA policy defines an accident as "a sudden, unexpected and unintentional event occurring during the period of insurance that is the only cause of damage or injury and has a visible impact on a person's external appearance."
What that means in real life:
- Sudden and unexpected. A back that hurt more and more over six months is not an accident. A slip on a wet floor is.
- The only cause. If an old knee problem helped cause the fall, FWD can say the accident was not the only cause.
- Visible impact. A cut, bruise, swelling or fracture is easier to claim than an internal strain with nothing to see.
Not covered
What it does not cover, and why claims get rejected
Know these before you buy.
- Illness. Apart from the 24 named diseases, sickness is not covered. A heart attack, stroke, slipped disc from desk work or gout is a medical event, not an accident.
- Pre-existing conditions. If the injured body part already had a recorded problem, FWD can decline or reduce the claim. Declare your history honestly when you apply.
- Alcohol or unprescribed drugs. Injuries while under the influence are excluded.
- Excluded activities. Professional sport, racing, unlicensed flying, handling explosives outside National Service, self-inflicted injury, war and illegal acts. Dental work is only covered if it comes from an accidental injury.
- Late bills or missing papers. Bills must be within 12 months. See a doctor on the day, keep every receipt, and tell the doctor exactly how it happened.
- The 14-day wait. Infectious disease cover starts 14 days after the policy is issued.
S$2,000 to S$4,000 per accident helps with clinic, physiotherapy and TCM bills, not a long hospital stay. That is what a hospital plan such as Integrated Shield is for. This is a yearly plan with no cash value: nothing comes back if you never claim, apart from the no-claim discount, and the price goes up with age.
Is it for you
Who this suits, and who it does not
It may suit you if
- You have young children and HFMD or dengue is a regular worry
- You are self-employed, a delivery rider, contractor or tradesperson with no paid medical leave
- You use TCM, a bonesetter or physiotherapy after an injury
- You want cover that keeps renewing well past 70
- You hold an Employment Pass or PR and want simple cover you can buy online
It does not suit you if
- You want cover for illness, not injury
- You want your premiums back if you never claim
- You do not have a hospital or Integrated Shield plan yet. Get that first.
- You play sport professionally or race vehicles
If you already have an accident plan that renews past 70, includes TCM and physiotherapy and has a similar lump sum, you may not need another one.
How to choose
How to choose any personal accident plan: 7 checks
Use these on any plan, not just this one.
- Can you renew without a health check? Guaranteed renewal means the plan stays after you claim.
- How old can you be when it ends? Many plans stop at 65 or 70, when falls become common.
- Does it include TCM and physiotherapy? This is where most people spend after an injury.
- Per-accident or yearly limit? Per-accident limits reset each time. Yearly limits do not.
- Does it cover anything beyond accidents? Infectious disease cover matters most for families with young children.
- Is there a no-claim discount? FWD Life PA gives 10% off after 3 claim-free years.
- How easy is a claim? An app with a named claims officer beats a paper form.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the best personal accident plan in Singapore?
There is no single best plan. It depends on how you get hurt and what you spend on afterwards. Use the 7 checks on this page to compare any plan. FWD Life PA, the plan on this page, renews to age 100, includes TCM and physiotherapy, uses per-accident limits, covers 24 infectious diseases and gives 10% off after 3 claim-free years.
Which accident plan in Singapore confirm can claim?
None. Every plan pays only for injury from an accident as the policy defines it. Claims are rejected for illness, pre-existing conditions, alcohol or unprescribed drugs, excluded activities, late bills and waiting periods. Pick a plan with fewer exclusions and wider benefits, not one that promises what no insurer can give.
Does personal accident insurance cover dengue or HFMD in Singapore?
Most plans do not, because these are illnesses, not accidents. FWD Life PA does: it covers 24 named infectious diseases, including dengue and hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD), after a 14-day waiting period from the policy issue date. Bills must be within 12 months of getting sick, and this cover ends at age 80. Children from age 0 to 21 can be covered.
How much does FWD Life PA cost?
For an office worker aged 64 and below, the base plan costs S$14.81 a month for Plan A, S$24.90 for Plan B and S$56.21 for Plan C. With 25% off your first year through this page, you pay S$11.12, S$18.67 or S$42.16 a month. Prices were checked on FWD's website on 9 October 2026. From the second year you pay FWD's usual renewal price. Your FWD checkout page shows the exact price.
Is personal accident insurance worth it in Singapore?
Yes, if an injury would cost you money out of your own pocket. Hospital plans such as Integrated Shield mainly pay when you are admitted, so clinic, TCM and physiotherapy bills after a sprain or fall are often not covered. It is less useful if your employer already gives you similar accident cover that you will keep.
What is the difference between a personal accident plan and an Integrated Shield plan?
An Integrated Shield plan pays hospital bills for illness and injury, mainly when you are admitted, and works with MediSave. A personal accident plan pays outpatient and TCM bills, a lump sum for accidental death or permanent disability, and can pay income while you recover. If you can only have one, get the Integrated Shield plan first.
Can I claim from more than one personal accident plan?
For the lump sum, generally yes: two plans can mean two payouts. For medical bills, no: you can only get back what you actually spent, once. So buying a second plan just for bigger medical limits usually wastes money.
Do I have to buy through you?
No. You can buy FWD Life PA directly on FWD's website. Using the link on this page gives you 25% off your first year instead of the 20% on FWD's own website (checked on 9 October 2026), for the same FWD policy. FWD also shares your policy details with my firm, SG Alliance, so if you need help with a claim you can message me. Buying through the link is an online purchase without financial advice.
