How to use this fixed deposit rate table

This page lists fixed deposit (FD) rates offered by banks and finance companies in Singapore. Enter the amount you plan to deposit and the number of months you want to lock it in. The table then shows the matching rates from highest to lowest, with an estimate of the interest you could earn.

Tick the Senior Citizen box if you are 55 or older, as some banks give seniors a better rate. Each row shows the date the rate was last checked, so you know how fresh it is.

What to check before you place a fixed deposit

  • Minimum amount: many promotional rates only apply above a set amount, such as S$10,000 or S$20,000.
  • How you place it: some rates are only for deposits placed online, or need you to bring in fresh funds.
  • Bundle conditions: some higher rates need you to also hold a current account, an insurance plan or an investment.
  • Taking money out early: if you withdraw before the end of the term, you may lose some or all of the interest.
  • Deposit insurance: Singapore dollar deposits with SDIC member banks and finance companies are covered up to S$100,000 per depositor per member.
  • Rates change often: always confirm the final rate and terms with the bank before you place your money.

Fixed deposits compared with other safe options

Fixed deposits are simple and the rate is known upfront, which makes them a good place for short term savings. For money you will not need for several years, Singapore Savings Bonds, Treasury bills and insurance savings plans are worth comparing too.
